July/August 10 DAY OIL PAINTING WORKSHOP

from 750.00

NEW DATES JULY 31 - AUGUST 11, 2017

STILL LIFE INSPIRED FROM YOUR FAVORITE PAINTING

Instructor; Linda Schroeter

Monday to Friday beginning July 31 - August 11th, 2017
10am - 4pm daily with week-end in between off

Learn how to set up a still life that is inspired by your favorite painting, which can be of any genre, and we will capture the palette, lighting or essence of the painting and create your own still-life.
I am excited to teach this workshop designed to be fun and informative. All students will be encouraged to bring in a copy of their favorite master painting or select from the the studio library.
This 10 day intensive is designed to immerse the student fully in the learning, understanding and improving on the fundamentals of oil painting.  You will learn essential theories in drawing and composition, value and painting studies, color theory and painting techniques, mediums and brushes.

Each student will work in his/her own station to create a still life painting inspired from your favorite painter of the past. You will learn how to do direct 'alla-prima' value and color studies along with lesson information handouts to keep to further enhance this study program.

All levels are welcome and no previous drawing or painting classes are required.
This is a good opportunity for all levels to try something new, pick up some oil painting techniques, study color and composition, learn studio safety, quick painting studies and using the grisaille under-painting and in-direct painting methods used by the Dutch masters.

**Please bring with you a book or copy of your favorite master painting from the 15th to the 20th century along with a favorite painting you would like to use as your inspiration. We do have books in the RRA as well if you want to look in our library first morning you are welcome. Some  resource and where to buy supplies information for you will be included in your welcome email upon sign up along with a complete materials list of what to bring to class. ***See option below for students traveling or new to oil painting who don't want to purchase their own supplies.

Participants will have the week-end to unwind and enjoy your weeks painting!
